Put a sticker out for the flat ones: Support flounders in eastern Denmarks

This year, we’re once again supporting ODFF

the Eastern Denmark Flatfish Association—and they’re releasing flounders into the Øresund!

And here’s the best part—you can be a part of it too!

These lovely flounders are already swimming around as tiny larvae over at the hatchery on Venø, but you can help the association and the next wave of releases by buying a very cool sticker that says “Flounder Release 26”.

‍

Get your hands on one and put it up at your restaurant—it’s a great way to show your support and help raise awareness for this important group working to boost our flatfish populations in Eastern Denmark!

And believe me, we need all the help we can get. Cormorants, seals, and things like the Lynetteholm project are making life tough for flatfish in the Øresund, so every little bit helps.

It’s a minimum of 1,000 kroner for a sticker—but you’re more than welcome to donate even more! Every cent goes straight to ODFF.

If you support with a sticker, you’ll get tagged as a partner and get access to all the resources we’re making together with the association. And you’ll get invited to the big release party in August, when we set all those lovely flounders free!

That’s it for this month’s stars… though it easily could’ve gone on forever, because there are just so many wonderful fish in May! So don’t forget about catfish, ling and tusk from pots, megrim and whiting from Danish seine, and lots more. Almost everything is in season in May—just don’t expect mackerel quite yet!
