Time to Take Garfish OFF the Menu – On to the Next Chapter

We’re slowly starting to say goodbye to garfish. They’ll be around for a few more weeks yet, but they tend to get smaller as the season progresses. So far, this year’s season has been exactly what we hoped for: six straight weeks of full throttle.
Well Prepared – Still Overwhelmed
We were ready for it this year. And yet, it never ceases to amaze us how, almost overnight, wave after wave of beautiful silver-beaked fish suddenly arrives. It’s something we should celebrate. And it’s something we need to take care of. That’s why we do our very best to ensure that garfish are treated with the respect they deserve.
This year, we’ve sold more garfish than ever before. And we’re absolutely thrilled about it.
Garfish is one of the most important species for the Danish pound-net fishermen working in Denmark’s inner waters. And pound-net fishing is a fishery worth protecting.
The Most Gentle Fishery of Them All
Pound-net fishing is about as Danish as rye bread and pickled herring. It’s one of the gentlest fishing methods in existence, and it also delivers some of the finest quality fish you can find. So thank you for embracing the garfish this season. Just remember to take it off the menu before July 1st. And when you do, well… perhaps it’s time to make room for mackerel.
